Checking stored preferences...
1. What Are Cookies?
Cookies are small text data files placed on your computer or mobile device when you browse websites. Modern web browsers also provide local storage mechanisms, such as HTML5 localStorage, which allow applications to store key-value preferences locally on your device without sending them across the network with every page request.
2. How Toolra Uses Cookies
Toolra is built as a client-side document processing suite. We do not use cookies or local storage to inspect, track, or index the contents of your files.
We use storage strictly for two functional purposes by default:
- Remembering your interface preferences (such as Dark Mode).
- Remembering whether you have made a choice on our cookie consent banner.
3. Essential Cookies & Local Storage
Essential storage items are strictly necessary for the technical operation of the website and cannot be switched off in our systems:
| Storage Key | Type | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
| theme | localStorage | Remembers Dark or Light display mode preference. | Persistent until cleared |
| fpt_cookie_consent_v1 | localStorage | Stores user consent selections (necessary, analytics, advertising). | Persistent until cleared |
4. Analytics Cookies
Analytics cookies help us measure aggregate site visits and browser performance errors so we can fix bugs and improve tool speed.
Analytics cookies (e.g. Google Analytics 4) are disabled by default. They are only initialized if you choose to enable Analytics in the cookie banner or preference manager. Analytics scripts receive aggregate technical metrics only and never have access to your uploaded files or file names.
5. Advertising Cookies
Advertising cookies allow advertising partners (such as Google AdSense) to display relevant advertisements that support our free service.
Advertising cookies are disabled by default. They are never set unless you affirmatively consent via "Accept All" or by enabling Advertising in your preferences.
6. Third-Party Cookies
If you consent to analytics or advertising, third-party providers (such as Google) may set cookies under their respective domain policies:
- Google AdSense: Used to serve ads and prevent fraud. Review Google's Privacy & Terms at https://policies.google.com/technologies/ads.
- Google Analytics: Collects anonymous session statistics.
7. Cookie Consent & Our Banner
When you visit Toolra for the first time, our Cookie Banner presents three clear choices:
- Reject All: Rejects all optional analytics and advertising cookies. Only strictly necessary storage is used.
- Manage Preferences: Opens a modal window allowing you to selectively enable or disable Analytics and Advertising cookies individually.
- Accept All: Grants consent for essential, analytics, and advertising technologies.
We do not use pre-ticked boxes or deceptive patterns. Non-essential cookies remain blocked until you consent.
8. Managing & Deleting Cookies
You have full control over cookies and local browser storage:
- Within Toolra: You can click the "Reset Consent Choices" button above or access "Cookie Settings" in the website footer at any time to revise your selections.
- In Your Browser: Every modern web browser provides settings to inspect, block, or delete cookies and site data:
9. Changes to This Cookie Policy
We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time to maintain compliance with privacy regulations and reflect updates in our technologies.
